Before writing, spend five minutes planning: thesis (your opinion), two or three arguments and the conclusion. The text almost writes itself afterward.

The introduction has three parts: set the context, present the problem and reveal your thesis. Short and direct beats ornate.

Avoid starting with “Nowadays…”. Prefer a fact, a question or a strong statement that grabs the reader from the first line.
